The National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA) competition is an annual event organized by the British Computer Society Sri Lanka (BCSSL) Section. The avowed objectives of the NBQSA competition are threefold : To provide recognition to outstanding achievements of individuals and organizations in Sri Lanka who/which have contributed to the development of ICT, to create a window to gain international recognition for locally developed ICT products and to improve standards and the quality of local ICT products and services to be able to compete in the international market place.

NBQSA 2009 winners won special merit awards at the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards competition held from 14 - 17 December 2009 in Melbourne, Australia.

NBQSA 2009 - 11 Years of Recognising Local ICT Innovation

NBQSA 2009 Awards Night and Gala Dinner was held at grand scale on 16th October 2009, at the Waters Edge, Battaramulla. Starting with only a few participants back in 1998, today NBQSA features forty innovative ICT products competing in fourteen categories and seventy tertiary student projects, all competing to win the overall Gold trophy.

NBQSA 2009 Today!

NBQSA 2009 Awards Night and Gala Dinner will be held today at the Waters Edge, Battaramulla. This is the 11th time NBQSA is being held after starting with only a few participants back in 1998.

Today NBQSA features forty innovative ICT products competing in fourteen categories and seventy tertiary student projects, all competing to win the overall Gold trophy. NBQSA is the only national event which enables ICT professionals and companies to showcase their products in the National arena and obtain the NBQSA seal of excellence.

IMPORTANT: Tertiary Student Projects Judging

Tertiary Student Projects Category judging will commence on 7th September 2009 and continue on 8th. The venue is ADMTC Lab, 3rd Floor, University of Colombo School of Computing. NBQSA Showcases Sri Lankan ICT Talent

The National Best Quality Software Awards (NBQSA) competition is an annual event organized by the British Computer Society Sri Lanka (BCSSL) Section. The competition serves to showcase and benchmark Sri Lankan ICT products, which fulfils a much needed requirement of the software industry in this highly competitive globalist economic structure. The competition has been conducted by the BCS Sri Lanka Section since 1998 to recognize and honor significant technological developments in the software industry.

Sri Lanka ICT innovations strike gold at APICTA

Sri Lanka won 5 awards at the Asia Pacific Information Communication Technology Alliances (APICTA) Annual Competition and Awards 2008 at the awarding ceremony held in Jakarta, Indonesia on 15th November, bringing great honour to Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka stood the test of not only the highest calibre of the contestants placed before this prestigious international competition, but also proved the excellent judging and selection process as five out of the 11 nominees from Sri Lanka were placed at the APICTA in the same order of ranking as was awarded at the national event.

The competition serves to showcase and benchmark Sri Lankan ICT products, which fulfills a much needed requirement of the software industry in this highly competitive globalised economic structure. The competition has been conducted by the BCS Sri Lanka Section since 1998 to recognize and honor significant technological developments in the software industry.
 

Procedure for Final Round Judging of Tertiary Student's Projects

The final round of judging is to happen on the 5th of September, 2008 at the ADTMC Lab, 3rd Floor - University of Colombo School of Computing.

If you are among the selected groups for this round, please make a note of the following guidelines.

You need to be present 30 minutes before your scheduled presentation time.

  1. The criteria used for evaluation will be the APICTA criteria.

NBQSA 2008 judging process is to commence shortly starting from the 2nd of September 2008. The list of tertiary teams/participants and the schedule for demonstrating to the judging panel can be found in the attached pdf document.
